the 460 is a solid and reliable engine, even when making better than 1.5hp per cubic inch. they do have some issues, fuel economy (like that matters if you plan on building a 460) is one of them. My 97 F-350 has around 93,000 on it and is still running stong. Not to sure what some people think of as bad mileage.
